Tom Kha Gai — Coconut Soup | If Jimmy Buffet had ever visited Thailand, he’d have written a song about our coconut soup. Yum Ta-lay | Trust us – this is an amazing salad for seafood lovers. We take fresh shrimp, tender scallops, chunks of Atlantic salmon, young squid and mussels then dash them all with our tangy lime juice, bits of Thai chili, bits of crisp red onion, fresh tomatoes and cool cucumbers. Then, just to show off, we accent it with chopped green onion, fresh cilantro and a hint of mint. Gang Panang | The cross-town rivals of the Massamans, Gang Panang is gaining territory (and bribed officials) with its spicier panang curry. Mango-a-go-go — Mango and Sweet Sticky Rice | Do you know the mango man? He only brings us mangos when they are in season, so we really look forward to his visits every year. When we do have mangos, we’ll slice it and eat half of it immediately, and tuck the other half inside a warm bed of sweet coconut milk sticky rice, and reluctantly serve it to you. $5.95
Custard a-go-go — Custard and Sweet Sticky Rice | The custard man shows up all the time, so it’s easier to get this dish with custard instead of a mango. True, it’s tougher to tuck custard into a bed of sweet coconut milk sticky rice, but look beyond the technical aspect of it and just enjoy it. It really is delicious. $4.50
Fried Bananas with Ice-Cream | Some people will fry anything – but until you’ve tried our fried bananas, you haven’t lived. We take ripe bananas and dip them in a special batter and then deep fry them ever so quickly, so the outside is crisp but the inside is soft and warm. We top it with a dab of sweet honey and yes, even a cherry on top. Then we add a scoop of coconut ice-cream. $4.95
